Insight Out

We were excited and honoured when we found out that we were one of 11 new businesses "cherry-picked" from all of the South West creatives who applied for Nesta's competitive Insight Out course.

It was a chance to learn all about the ins and outs of running a business and kicked off last week with a 4 day residential course in Taunton.

After checking in we met the other successful applicants and were completely surprised by the range of new businesses present, from Glassware products to Fine Art Photography. This proved to be a great asset on the course as the diversity led to many different ideas shared that may not have come through if had been 11 software development studios!

We were also surprised with the content of the course, which required us to  confront our core values and envisage the impact of our business in the future. It was a bit like putting Mobile Pie on the psychiatrist's couch!

It was a hugely rewarding week though and culminated with a take away plan of action to forge ahead and seek new heights! Also Mobile Pie made lots of new friends and we will enjoy supporting each other as our businesses grow!

Future events will involve more practical days such as pitching and presenting skills, business finance and one-on-one sessions.

This all made sense in the end!
